- We put the thawed meat or meat in the freezer for half an hour. This makes it easier to cut into thin slices.
- In a bowl, add and mix all the spices except 2 cups beef stock and cornstarch or sesame oil.
- Cut the meat with the grain into thin strips and marinate in a bowl in the fridge for an hour. Move from time to time.
- Place all the veggies in a large saucepan and add 1" - 1 1/2" water, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, and a pinch of salt. Bring the mixture to a boil and reduce the heat. Cook the vegetables for 8-10 minutes or until the broccoli is slightly tender. Move from time to time. Don't use too much steam. You want to sauté the veggies a bit. Strain and set aside.
- Mix 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with 4 tablespoons of water and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, add 3 tbsp sesame oil and heat. Then add all of the beef and the marinade.
- Cook over high heat for 10 minutes, keeping the lid open and adding as little as possible.
- When some or all of the marinade has gone, add a glass of meat broth and heat quickly.
- You'll want to start a knot if you're eating veggies and preparing beef at the same time.
- When almost done, add half the cornstarch and quickly mix in the marinade. Hopefully the marinade will thicken and you can pierce it when the veggies are done. You will know almost immediately. If not, add the other half of the corn mixture and mix quickly. If you think it's too thick, add a little broth at a time and mix quickly. You don't want to overcook the meat. You also need enough marinade to lightly cover the veggies.
- Now add all the steamed vegetables to the pan and mix quickly. Simmer for another 3 minutes, stirring regularly.
- Remove from heat and serve with soy sauce and chops over rice. If you cook with sesame oil, you don't need sesame seeds to decorate the dishes.
- Having two favorite eaters at home, I couldn't put corn, water chestnuts, bamboo or snow peas in this special bowl, but I'm sure you can!
- Prepare the rice according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Typically, you wash the rice until the water is cloudy, then add 1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water and reduce. Leave the lid closed for 15 minutes and do not tip it over. Remove from the heat and let rest restlessly for another 5 minutes with the lid closed.
