Even if the meat isn't a good color right after you cut it, it will look better after a while. Required ingredients and spices Get a "roast beef" which is very easy to prepare from Australian beef:

  1. 400-500 grams x 2 blocks = 800 grams per 1 kg Australian beef blocks (round)
  2. 1 celery, scallions, etc. leftover vegetables
  3. 2 liters of water
  4. 3 tablespoons salt (natural)

Instructions for a super easy "roast beef" with Australian beef

  1. If you buy beef, don't put it in the fridge, store it at room temperature. If the meat is too cold while cooking, the inside will be raw. ("Rare" and "raw" are not the same thing.) Beef tastes better than fresh beef. If you can find Australian beef selling for half the price shown here, make sure you buy it!
  2. Celery, onions, Japanese scallions, carrots, parsley, peking, cabbage, etc. Add fragrant veggies like (celery and clams are a must if you have extra good bamboo shoots!) in a saucepan of water and bring to a boil. Cook.
  3. If the Australian beef block you bought came with a spice packet, rub it into the meat. If nothing comes out, rub with salt and pepper (not pure). Be generous with peppers.
  4. Fry the meat in a pan. Make sure you use strong fire.
  5. When the veggie rind is cooked in step 2, add the beef! Bring to the boil again and cook over high heat for 1 minute! Turn off the stove, dissolve the salt in the water, leave for 12-15 minutes, then simply remove the meat. Cooking time will vary depending on the size of the block of meat, in most cases a good 15 minutes!
  6. If you're concerned the meat is undercooked, try trimming the edges. If it's light pink in the center, great! (If you touch the center and it's cold, it's raw.) It's just as tasty, but if you put the meat in the cooked liquid at about 120F/50C for an hour after the liquid has cooled, it will it will absorb vegetable flavor and get better!
  7. If you have leftover beef or don't want to eat it right away, store the stew in a bag or container that can be refrigerated for 3-4 days.
  8. When serving, chop the beef as finely as possible. Honestly, it's cheaper and healthier than ham, so use it in salads and sandwiches and eat lots.
  9. Use store-bought salad dressing with beef, mustard, wasabi soy sauce, fried daikon radish, and ponzo sauce, or your other salad dressing of choice. Here's an easy sauce recipe: Mix an equal amount of store-bought yak sauce with ponzo soy sauce.
